ABOUT Punk Majesty & Founder Alisha Amnesia

Rock n Roll clothing for people who care about more than just looking cool. We care about empowering others, inclusion, and our planet.

 

Punk Majesty is statement clothing for people who like to stand out in a crowd. We combine rock n roll aesthetics with elements of high fashion and streetwear in creative combinations. The ethos of the brand is empowerment and inclusion, and we care about the planet.

 

We started by creating one-of-a-kind upcycled pieces making empowering statements on suit jackets. Then we expanded into ties, vests, leather jackets, trench coats, and gloves, all one-of-a-kind. In 2020, we added print-on-demand t-shirts, hoodies, accessories and home goods, and in September 2021, we launched our new casual streetwear line.

 

When you buy Punk Majesty, you are supporting an Independent Artist and a Small Female-Owned Business. PM is designed for all genders, sizes, races and sexual orientations. As the child of a gay dad who was her biggest inspiration, Alisha has grown up in the LGBTQ+ community, whose causes are important to her.

 

After a lifetime of customizing her own clothes as a DIY Punk, she founded Punk Majesty when doctors told her she had to stop talking due to vocal problems. She was forced to take almost a year off work, after a decade of working in live music events. Determined to make the most of her time while unable to speak, and determined to stay positive, Punk Majesty was launched.​

Punk Majesty has been worn by Jane Wiedlin of The Go Go's, Chris Stein of Blondie, Captain Sensible of The Damned, vocalist Jake Hout of The Dead Boys, and guitarist Neal X of Sigue Sigue Sputnik and Marc Almond's band. The line is currently being carried at FAB London in London's Camden Market, and Ceiba and West Coast Leather in San Francisco. PM was the Top-selling independent designer carried in NYC's premier Rock n Roll Boutique I NEED MORE according to Owner Jimmy Webb, who passed away in 2020. There's a tribute article in Vogue, where you can spot a Punk Majesty jacket to his right. Jimmy told her, "New York City Loves Punk Majesty!" Punk Majesty is currently looking for a new home for the line in NYC.

 

The self-appointed Queen of DIY, Alisha is the designer, art director, photographer, webmaster, does all promotion and social media, e-commerce, shipping, research, sourcing, ordering, accounting, inventory tracking, model scouting, booking models, events, photo shoots, styling, event production and more. (In 2020, she even had to be her own model!) 

Punk Majesty has done shows in San Francisco, Hollywood, Brooklyn and New York City.

Punk Majesty jackets, trench coats, vests and gloves are customized with punk-inspired details such as chain mail, locks, chains, studs, spikes, kilt pins, safety pins, leather, etc. and all painting and embellishing is done by hand.

 

“I like the idea of recycling and re-purposing, which is why I find and use pieces of clothing that already exist and then I customize them, making them something completely different than they were before. This is eco-friendly upcycled fashion.”

 

Some fashion icons and designers she admires are (70's) Johnny Rotten, Boy George, Vivienne Westwood, Pam Hogg, Stephen Sprouse, Betsey Johnson, John Varvatos and Jean Paul Gaultier to name a few.

The brand began as 100% Upcycled, but now also offers some new leather jackets, gloves and ties due to supply availability and demand. Our Suit Jackets, Trench Coats, and vests are all upcycled. The Hoodies, T-shirts, Streetwear & home goods are print-on-demand, sustainable, zero waste. We also offer a Recycled T-Shirt. The future goal is to work with a recycled leather manufacturer for all Punk Majesty Leather. Making mindful, ethical and eco-conscious decisions for all Punk Majesty clothing will always be a part of the process.
